If your child is growing up fast and ready for a little more independence, our traditional pre-school will be the perfect ‘home from home’ environment, available from 1 years old.

We are open Monday – Thursday 8am-3pm and Friday 8am-12pm term time only. We offer flexible hours and sessions to suit your individual needs. You may also be entitled to free 15 or 30 hours childcare.

Situated within the halls of Drayton United Church our pre-school benefits from having free flow access to large and varied inside and outside learning environments. As a ‘pack away pre-school’ our setting is constantly adapting to suit the needs and interests of all our children and families. Please read below to find out more about some of our different areas.

Our Pre-school Includes:

Playroom

Playroom

Our main playroom is bright and open planned with specific dedicated spaces for each area of the Early Years curriculum. For example role play, construction, mark making, sensory and creative activity areas. The activities and resources within our pre-school playroom are influenced by our children’s needs and interests and are changed every fortnight to always keep our environment stimulating and engaging. Within the room we also have our own easily accessible children’s toilets and sink to help encourage independence and toilet training.

Outside

From our playroom we have easy access straight out into our own purpose-built playground, allowing the children opportunities to freely choose to play inside or outside during their pre-school day. Wet pour rubber surfacing has been installed to ensure it is safe for the children to run, climb and be active outdoors. Our playground has lots of space for various outdoor equipment such as bikes and scooters as well as mud kitchen and digging area which provide the children with opportunities for physical growth and development. We also have waterproof trousers and wellies for the children to access the outdoors in all seasons.

Garden

Garden

We are very fortunate to also have access to our own garden and growing area. We plant seeds and observe how they grow and change and enjoy planting fruits and vegetables which we can harvest and enjoy at snack times. Our large garden has stepping stones leading to our outside story/ circle seating area, climbing frame and soon-to-be outdoor classroom.

Community

Community

Our pre-school is situated within the heart of Drayton and Farlington in Drayton United Church halls. We therefore have strong links with our local community, the schools, businesses, and also the elderly community group that occurs in the church hall next to us. Every year we are also invited into the Church for special events such as the Harvest Festival, Easter and we also perform our special traditional Nativity performance to our families in the church at Christmas. We also often invite our parents into pre-school for special events throughout the year such as sports day and graduation!
